This is my first discovery of Amazon game downloads. I've been getting them from Wild Tangent games that came with the HP computer. I paid WT $19.99 for this very game download and 20 or 30 others that Amz probably has here for seven bucks.
I bought and played Escape the Museum. First, I think the hidden item artwork is inferior to the Spintop games that Wild Tangent sells. The hidden stuff is too ridiculously vague to find. I just went ahead and made liberal use of the hint button. There was a lot of gameplay and some fun variety escaping various rooms, but the big part of this game is just gobs of 20-item search rooms where all those barely recognizable items are supposedly hidden. With the Spintop games, I've always enjoyed the after-game unlimited search feature. With this one, I quit bothering. Still I thought there was enough play even to warrant the $19.99, much less this incredible bargain. |
Not your average hidden object game.

Escape the Museum is half hidden object (find the objects within a scene) and half puzzle (use different objects to overcome obstacles). The storyline is pretty good (althought the dialogue is AWFUL. I can't stand listening to the main character in this game.) and it was fin figuring out how to escape each room in the museum after it suffers and earthquake. One minute your opening up Egyptian tombs and then the next room you firing a cannon!
I tend to get bored with the games that are just hidden object, so this one was a lot better in that respect. Make sure to try the 60 min. free trial download before buying this game; it's the best way to find out if you are going to like it without having to fork over hard earned money. |
